About Me

Cheri Wilson King: Centerburg, Ohio, United States; I am married to my best friend, Rob. I am so thankful that God put us together. We have 3 children and in the process of adopting our 4th child. We have 2 boys, and a precious little girl. God called us to adopt January/2010. We prayed and prayed to make sure that this was really what God wanted us to do. God just started opening up doors and we haven't looked back one time.

Adoption Timeline

January 2010 - Haiti Earthquake hit. God started speaking to us about adopting.
April 2010 - God led us to adopt from Ethiopia due to Haiti being closed to adoptions.
June 1, 2010 - Completed first application to adoption agency
June 4, 2010 - Received call that adoption application approved!
July 30, 2010 - Mailed application for Home Study
August 10, 2010 - Traveled to downtown Columbus for first Home Study interview
August 23, 2010 - 2nd interview with Home Study case worker at our home
September 28, 2010 - Home Study approved!
October 2010 - contined to work on our dossier papers
October 6, 2010 - mailed 1-600 form
December 7, 2010 - getting fingerprinted down town Columbus
December 23, 2010 - had to get finger printed for the 2nd time..
January 13, 2011 - finally received email from the USCIS that case was approved
Janaury 18, 2011 - received the referral packet for a little guy on the waiting list
January 21, 2011 - finally received approval of 1-171H
February 2, 2011 - had a really bad ice strom, but still went to Mt. Vernon, and down town Columbus to get all of our papers county and state certified. Thank you, Jesus, it went smootly and God kept us safe on the roads
February 4, 2011 - mailed dossier to adoption agency, it is now out of our hands
February 7, 2011 - accepted the referral of the little boy on the waiting list
February 15, 2011 - very sad news, we lost our referral, we are unable to adopt the little guy we fell in love with.
February 21, 2011 - we are officially on the waiting list to receive another referral
May 3, 2011 - well, we are stil on the waiting list.. it's really getting hard waiting, but know that God is in control and it will happen within His Time and it will be perfect.
August 30, 2012 - REFERRAL DAY, finally received "the call". We are so excited that we were referred a perfect 12 month old boy. He is so gorgeous!!!
